Crayon Crafts

What do you do when you have too many broken crayons?

SWIRLY CRAYON "CUPCAKES"

We peeled the paper off of the broken crayons
Preheat the oven to 275*F
Cover baking sheet with tin foil
Place foil cupcake liners on baking sheet

You could line a muffin cup with paper or tin liners.
My dear friend did this last week with paper liners and it was tricky to get the waxy liners out and it did make the muffin tin a little messy...
she probably will not be using it for baking muffins again....

Place crayons in lined tins
Bake in oven until melty
Cool
Color!

I chose to bake the crayons when my kids were asleep.  There was a distinct melty crayon smell in the oven, so I did air it out before I cooked any more food in the oven.  I aired it out over night, so we did not get the crayony smell full blast.

My friend, however, has an very good kitchen fan, so she did not have the problem with the crayony smell.

I was amazed how excited both 5 year olds and 7 year olds were with the finished project!

Activities at LFCC

One of my favorite places for morning activities is the Laconia Library.
We go to story time on Thursday mornings.

For a special treat we might even go to Funspot.  As you can see, I am a whiz at skee ball!
